DPS Sponsor Advanced Therapeutic Products Seminar in Dublin

13 September

More than 120 senior executives from the Irish healthcare industry were in attendance last week for a major seminar in Dublin today on Advanced Therapeutic Products hosted by the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers – Ireland Affiliate.

The keynote speaker at the seminar was Veronica Kenneally, owner and founder of Veronica’s Snacks, who detailed her experiences of running a busy enterprise while at the same time raising three children – while simultaneously undergoing treatment for Melanoma, first diagnosed in 2009.

Veronica is currently being treated in both St Vincent’s Hospital under Dr John Crown and the Beacon Hospital under Prof John Armstrong with the drug Pembrolimuzab.  She has been on the drug since February 2015.

The seminar also heard technical presentations on advanced therapeutic products from pharma companies Takeda, Biomarin, Sartorius, Prosys, Alnylam and also from King’s College London, the Centre for Cell Manufacturing Ireland and the Health Products Regulatory Authority.
