DPS Engineering are currently looking for a Project Controls Manager in our Netherlands Operation. The successful candidate should ideally have 15 years’ of experience working as a project controls manager for Procurement and Construction (EPC) (self-perform) project controls functions on pharma projects. The candidate has demonstrated successful delivery of projects during construction with an investment value of € 100 M. and above. The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for the accurate reporting and management of Cost and Schedule of this project and report to the Construction Manager. The Project Controls Manager will lead a team of project (cost) controllers and a scheduler. The location of the project will be in The Netherlands, “Randstad” area.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, training and execution of all project controls processes and systems on the project;
  • Ensures that all project control activities such as project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management and schedule management are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company and business group standards;
  • Responsible for reporting progress and forecasts on cost and schedule of the assigned project;
  • Strong understanding of the project controls process; programming, scope development, design development, implementation, project closeout;
  • Able to lead and participate in multi discipline cross functional teams;
  • Risk Management – Maintain the Project Risk Register and report on its risk in terms of impacts to the project’s cost and schedule;
  • Demonstrate leadership, team-skills, self-confidence, and effective decision making throughout a project;
  • Lead compliance with good practices, company policies, regulations and codes.

 

Education & experience

  • Degree in relevant Discipline, B.Sc in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management of related field.;
  • 15 years planning/scheduling, quantity surveying/cost engineering experience in a construction and engineering environment with at last 10 years in a construction environment;
  • Solid understanding of the projects environment; able to develop solutions that work for the business and do not compromise on quality;
  • Solid background of executing projects with a demonstrated record of on time and within cost performance;
  • Ability to manage and negotiate contractor cost;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills;
  • Resilient and able to problem solve in collaboration with colleagues and construction partners;
  • Displays a genuine interest in continuous improvement;
  • Certification in Quality and or Continuous Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) an advantage;
  • Excellent MS office skills;
  • MS Project or Primavera skills an advantage;
  • Languages: Dutch and English
