Position Summary:

DPS is seeking a Senior Project Architect/Department Manager with a proven track record to join our Philadelphia Area team. The successful candidate will work directly with our clients and DPS internal teams on projects of all scales. Primary responsibilities will include leading the design and planning process for multi-faceted production facilities and directing and overseeing the production and coordination of architectural deliverables for projects. DPS seeks a person with a strong architectural background in biotech/biopharm and/or R&D laboratory design. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •      Manage, hire, and develop the architectural design team
  •      Execute site master planning, concept, schematic and design development phases of projects
  •      Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations
  •      Position requires ownership and commitment to adhering to project timelines, budgets, project efficiency, and identifying, managing and tracking project changes
  •      Strong ability to work collaboratively with clients, senior project managers and in-house engineering disciplines
  •      Capable of leading project teams through the overall design and documentation process for multiple projects simultaneously
  •      Must possess strong project management skills relating to design, coordination and time management
  •      Strong abilities to initiate and maintain relationships with clients
  •      Provide architectural design for varied projects and client base
  •      Strong design, technical, and communication skills (both visually & verbally) are essential
  •      Direct, oversee and participate in the production of construction documentation including specifications
  •      Work with clients, contractors and local officials to coordinate construction issues

 

Education & Experience:

  •        Bachelor of Architecture / MAster of Architecture degree required
  •       20+ years of experience, in a professional services consulting firm with project operations experience
  •      Biotech/biopharm and/or R&D laboratory design experience preferred
  •      Architectural license and NCARB registration preferred, On-track for near term considered
  •      Must have strong capability to illustrate design concepts to clients and/or internal team members

  •      Good report and technical writing skills and a requirement with proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and power point

  •      Travel: 0 – 20% travel
