Summary

The Commodity Specialist will be part of the Procurement and Supply Chain team  located in Chandler, AZ, reporting directly to the Procurement Team Lead, and assist in the preparation and tracking of activities on complex high-tech construction projects for a major microelectronics manufacturing client. Successful candidates will have experience working in Procurement and Supply Chain for industrial construction, preferably supporting advanced technology clientele, possess above average proficiency in MS Excel/MS Office Suite, and have strong communication and organiz147755.580252ational skills, The Commodity Specialist ensures the security and accountability of inventory by documenting transactions using DPS systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Review design package weekly; Review email notifications from Document Control for package milestones; evaluate the impact to the procurement process and make decisions on how that impacts the procurement plans. Update database with milestone dates and make all approved changes.
• Pull design packages, Evaluate the changes and refine the scope and impact to the supplier and allocate and transmit those changes to the impacted trade contractors.
• Manage the trade pricing submittals and send to Client Cost Engineering team for review, providing any recommendations needed before change order is issued.
• Manage the change order system, by compiling client submitted, and take action to incorporate the approved changes into the procurement system.
• Manage the commodity review meeting by reviewing deadlines/milestones/changes with impacted trades, help needed, hot topics, etc.
• Coordinate with Trades/Client Cost Engineers, Client on exception to deadlines, missed commit dates, help mitigate and correct potential process gaps.
• Maintain accurate calendars, meetings, tracking sheets and other tools as directed.
• Accurately input information into Risk and Decision logs and responsible to maintain the integrity of the logs.
• Build strong partnerships and develop relationships with key owners to build a team type atmosphere which will the overall program forward.

Skills and Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience supporting Cost Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain functionality for commercial/industrial construction projects preferred. Advanced technology sector experience a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with high attention to detail and organiz147755.580252ational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter, both independently and with a team.
• Diploma or Degree level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business preferred. Relevant work experience directly related will be considered in lieu of formal education.
