DPS Engineering is looking for a capable Junior Piping Designer. This is an entry level position is a part of a larger team that provides Process Engineering and Design support to the Boston areas growing life sciences industry. In this role, the candidate will work directly with a lead piping designer to model the process piping of novel manufacturing processes. Applicants should have exposure to, and enjoy working with, CAD based software. Experience working with CADWorx, Revit, Plant 3D a plus. Experience in support of cGMP processes or design is also beneficial. The candidate is not expected to have all the skills to contribute on day one but must be an eager learner. On-the-job training will be provided. Successful applicants shall be technically driven and able to overcome obstacles to deliver results. Candidate must work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  •    Provide piping design support to the process piping team
  •    Model piping systems for process and utility piping, valves, instruments, pumps and associated equipment
  •    Read Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and equipment layouts and understand their relationship to developing the 3D model of the given piping systems
  •    Coordinate design activities with other DPS Architecture and Engineering disciplines


Education & Experience:

  •    High School Diploma (or relevant experience)
  •    Design background is preferred, specifically in the development of design deliverables to support construction of new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities
  •    Work to support a piping contractor in design/drawings
  •    Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team,  remote locations possible
  •    Maintain excellent attention to detail and possess organiz700310.98242ational, analytical, oral and written communication skills
  •    Ability to multitask, establish priorities and meet deadlines
  •    Ability to resolve problems by determining next logical steps or creating a solution where one does not already exist
  •    Contribute to a culture of excellence and continue to build on interdisciplinary collaboration and team comradery
