This position is to support in the preparation of plans and programs designed to present and interpret company operations and policies to employees, the press, and the general public on an international basis. In addition, the candidate will liaise with all government organizations as required.

DPS has an excellent opportunity for an experience Public & Government Relations Specialist to work with a Reputable Energy Supplier client. This role will be reporting to the Business Administrator. This position is to support in the preparation of plans and programs designed to present and interpret company operations and policies to employees, the press, and the general public on an international basis. In addition, the candidate will liaise with all government organiz929165.549029ations as required.

This position will be expected to work in KL, Malaysia.

Job Scope:

·      Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favourable public image

·      Develop company literature and other forms of communication

·      Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic

·      Copy edit, proofread, and revise communications

·      Work with management to determine and manage budgets

·      Promote company communications objectives through public relations and CSR initiatives

·      Develop communications campaigns

·      Create content for press releases, media relations, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals

·      Identify, develop and execute communications strategies to meet corporate communications objectives

·      Research media coverage and industry trends

·      Develop story ideas and execute them through appropriate channels to identified audiences

·      Participate in company communications strategy

·      Conduct media outreach

·      Prepare briefing materials; and translation as needed

·      Coordinate company officers interaction at conferences, trade shows, and press interviews

·      Coordinate executive and guest services

·      Coordinate with government agencies to obtain approvals as needed

·      Coordinate work related passes for professionals or personnel. Arrival and formalities for employees and their family members

·      Conduct research and monitor legislation. Also, track happenings within the government that could affect their organiz929165.549029ation. Research policies to see what changes could be advantageous and which trends might negatively impact their company in the future

·      Prepare reports and presentations to deliver within organiz929165.549029ation. Write talking points and serve as a point of contact for the media. Represent organiz929165.549029ation at industry forums and events

·      Advise Client Management on PR and communication related matters in order to improve reputation of the organiz929165.549029ation

·      Obtain and assure Client compliance with all corporate PR requirements and preapprovals

·      Lead and execute Client yearly Events Plan, budget, design and execution with all third party

·      Follow and report South Asia news: energy and political development

·      Develop annual business plans and accountability reporting

·      Develop communication strategy / plan and lead implementation including the social media strategy

·      Represent the company at conference, seminars and other professional gatherings

·      Provide PR consultation, advise and support to Client, Stakeholders, affiliates, PMT's and KSA embassies in Client area of operations

·      Direct contact and communication with External entities: As required with non-government organiz929165.549029ation, government bodies, PR agencies, creative agencies, market research organiz929165.549029ations etc., exhibitors and organiz929165.549029er of conferences, seminars etc. counterparts in Middle East, ASC and affiliates

·      Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Client management.

Job Requirements:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, from a recogniz929165.549029ed and approved program

·      7 to 15 years of proven working experience in this role

·      Strong ability in Writing, Communications, Public Relations or Media Relation

·      Experience in designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level

·      Familiar with event planning and ability to work with diverse public relations teams

·      Strong understanding of communications channels and audiences in Malaysia; and in the Middle East region is desirable

·      Exceptional writing and editing skills are must

·      Having Public Relations experience in the oil & gas industry is an advantage
