We are seeking an experienced Project Architect with a proven track record to join our Philadelphia Area team. The successful candidate will work directly with our clients and DPS internal teams on projects of all scales. Primary responsibilities will include leading the design and planning process for multi-faceted production facilities and overseeing the production and coordination of architectural construction documents under the direction of the Architectural Department Manager. DPS seeks a person with a strong architectural background in biotech/biopharm and/or R&D laboratory design.

Key responsibilities:

  • Position requires ownership and commitment to adhering to project timelines, budgets, project efficiency, and identifying, managing and tracking project changes.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with clients, senior project managers and in-house engineering disciplines.
  • Capable of leading project teams through the overall design and documentation process for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong project management skills relating to design, coordination and time management.
  • Strong abilities to initiate and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Provide architectural design for varied projects and client base. 
  • Strong design, technical, and communication skills (both visually & verbally) are essential.
  • Oversee and participate in the production of construction documentation including specifications.  
  • Work with clients, contractors and local officials to coordinate construction issues.

Education & experience:

  • B. Arch. / M.Arch degree required 
  • 8+ years of experience, in a professional services consulting firm with project operations experience
  • Biotech/biopharm and/or R&D laboratory design experience preferred. 
  • Architectural license and NCARB registration preferred.  On-track for near term considered.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with Revit and AutoCAD

Essential skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Good report and technical writing skills a requirement with proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and power point. 
  • Demonstrating good interpersonal skills, attentive and approachable.
  • Maintains a professional and productive relationship with clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to inspire teams, develop relationships with co-workers and direct reports, to meet internal deadlines 
  • Positive attitude, even when under pressure

  • Travel: 0 – 20% travel
  • Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday with flexible work environment
