The Director of Architectural and Engineering Services is responsible for the consistent and coordinated execution of engineering and architecture teams within the Philadelphia Projects Operation. The role is responsible for hiring, managing, and coordinating the cross-discipline interaction of the Philadelphia Projects discipline managers with a focus on developing talent and providing innovative and technical solutions. The majority of projects will be for the Life Sciences industry. The role is a key leadership position in the Philadelphia Project Operations Group with growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Active participation in Philadelphia Operations Leadership team, driving the growth, culture, and success of the office and projects.
  • Assist Operations for accurate forecasting and annual budget's for engineering disciplines to meet KPI's.
  • Active Participant and support of Business development to meet DPS business needs such as technical sales, proposal preparation and client presentations. Participates in the development of norms in terms of deliverables and associated man hours.
  • Develops, manages and coordinates Philadelphia Projects Operation SME program.
  • Coordinates with Central engineering to achieve a consistent group execution approach with respect to procedures, work instructions, guidelines and execution of deliverables.
  • Participating in hiring of lead engineers across all engineering departments.
  • Development and execution of Design and Department technical KPI's for all engineering disciplines.
  • Implementation of roll-out of new engineering software tools and associated training
  • Implementation and coordination with quality on roll-out of group systems and procedures, work instructions and associated training.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Project controls to align engineering systems and procedures with project resourcing and project delivery including Lean Project Execution.
  • Manages and coordinates Philadelphia Projects operation technical training programme for engineering personnel. This includes engagement with HR on graduate training schemes, CPD, career planning and training budgeting.
  • Participates and manages project design delivery technical quality compliance with the Philadelphia Projects Operation by facilitating necessary design reviews and lessons learned sessions. Manages Lessons learned implementation. Coordinates with quality and facilitates internal technical quality audits and close-out of Corrective Actions for disciplines

Education & experience:

  • ·       Bachelor’s degree within the Engineering or Architecture fields required
  • ·       MBA a plus
  • ·       8+ years of experience in management
  • ·       10+ years working in an A&E firm
  • ·       Professional Engineer license preferred
  • ·       Previous Life Sciences project management experience a plus
