Operational Excellence Lead

DPS have a requirement for an Operational Excellence Lead with a Dublin based Pharmaceutical Client. You will support the site management team by leading the Operational Excellence vision, culture and activities onsite. The role can be offered on a full or part time basis. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical support to the Site OE programme, it’s on going sustainability and the effectiveness of the site in following the process and in tracking the benefits of site based continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyse OE performance across site and OE trends
  • Provide business improvement project leadership, mentor OE team members and provide access to training and coaching in Lean Six Sigma concepts and techniques
  • Supervise, mentor and provide direction to the site OE practitioners Drive the ongoing advancement of OE manufacturing culture, principles and practices across the site and work with site management to create the OE vision for the site which supports functional and cross-site continuous improvement.
  • Support the management of major projects to drive improvement in site KPIs and to achieve company goals leading to significant benefits, e.g. cost savings, productivity/cycle time gains and control of quality within non-production environments and support areas.
  • Help the business identify areas for continuous process improvement and take action to implement based on robust benefit-effort analysis, collaboration with the management team and appropriate prioritisation.
  • Work collaboratively with functional area personnel in the continuous improvement of processes.
  • Deliver OE refresher sessions and provide awareness/entry training for new employees, e.g. White belt, Yellow belt
  • Drive the OE methodology, that all business improvement projects use and mentor teams through the methodology.
  • Promote cross-functional and inter-site teamwork to accomplish shared objectives.
  • Ensure that any new business processes are designed as lean from the start.
  • Responsible for the sustainability and further development of the Site OE Infrastructure.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry benchmark on OE
  • Network with other OE professionals in the company and industry.

 

Requirements:

  • Educated at a minimum to degree level in a scientific and/or engineering discipline. 
  • 7+ years’ experience in production / manufacturing / engineering role, of which 5+ years’ experience within OE / 6 Sigma / Business Process Improvement.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in a cGMP environment. 
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Recognised Lean / 6 Sigma training to Black Belt Level and achievement of certification 
  • Formal project management training and history of leading cross functional business improvements projects using a lean six sigma methodology 
  • Proven track record in, leading business improvement projects, delivering pragmatic & scalable solutions, implementing sustainable systems, driving cultural (behavioural) change.
