Summary

The Lead Process Engineer will work in our Albany, NY office and report to the Head of Engineering. In this role, you will manage the Process Engineering Department, provide design and engineering support for chemical process systems used in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical manufacturing facilities. Candidates will have minimum ten (10) years of A/E/C experience as a Chemical Process Engineer supporting design of chemical process systems used in industrial facilities environment.

Responsibilities

  • Basic and detailed chemical process design engineering activities for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries.
  • Activity planning, work scheduling, and assigning responsibilities to engineers and piping designers, and monitoring work progress in order to meet schedule and deliverable goals.
  • Develop or review and approve PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping layouts, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
  • Develop or review and approve design and equipment siz641624.024869ing calculations.
  • Participate in and facilitate Process Haz641624.024869ards Analysis studies.
  • Coordinate work and team activities with other disciplines, sub-contractors, and Clients.
  • Participate in bid estimating and scope development including taking sole responsibility for developing and issuing certain bids.
  • Participate in project cost and schedule estimating.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering at a minimum, Chemical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of design / consulting experience or hands-on field experience performing process design, start-up, and production support activities.
  • Experience facilitating or participating in Process Haz641624.024869ards Analysis studies.
  • Experience in automation systems including instrumentation and PLCs. Experienced developing sequences of operations and representing process controls on P&IDs.
  • Experience managing personnel, especially in the design disciplines.
  • Experience using AutoCAD for drawing review required. Revit and Navisworks is a plus.
  • Experience speaking before an audience of clients or stakeholders.
  • Software: MS-Office Suite, MS-Project, and AutoCAD. CAESAR II or Pipe-Flo is a plus.
  • Pass a fit test for breathing apparatus to include respirators, filter masks, etc. as required by client safety policies.
  • Able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as required per the requirements of clients’ safety policies.
  • Must be legal US resident (US Citiz641624.024869enship/Permanent Resident/Green Card)
