Civil Structural Technician - Revit

DPS currently have a requirement for a Civil Structural Technician with strong Revit skills to be based in our Dublin offices in Citywest.               

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Fully proficiency / high degree of competence in BIM/Revit is essential
  • Experience/awareness of the Navisworks software package is favourable
  • Clash detection and liaise with other disciplines to find solutions to any clashes found.
  • Experience with 3D point clouds is required.
  • Modelling existing civil/structural elements using As-built drawings provided and checking elements against point cloud data in both Revit and Navisworks.
  • Interrogate point cloud data to identify and model any civil and structural elements, within the project scope area, not included on existing drawings.
  • Relevant experience in steel framed construction and reinforced concrete foundations is required
  • Experience with precast structures (i.e. precast floors, walls and the details of same) is favourable
  • Relevant experience in Industrial projects is preferred and proficiency in detailing these building types
  • Civils experience in drainage (storm, foul and drainage) is required for the role. 
  • Experience in mixed use commercial developments will also be considered.
  • A motivated and enquiring mind with excellent design, communication and organisational skills.
  • A desire to learn, with an emphasis on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential. DPS staff continually learn about different technologies in order to deliver the best advice to our clients.
  • IT proficiency and skills required to a high level.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated with an ability to work within the DPS Project Manager led team structure, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Strong design, technical and construction knowledge is essential for this role, combined with detailing, design development and tender pack assembly and coordination
  • Experience in client-facing role is preferable but not essential, successful candidate will be involved in design meetings. 
  • Experience working to compressed schedules and target deadlines.
  • Be compliant with DPS Standards & procedures.
  • Ability to manage projects to tight deadlines.
  • Take ownership of tasks given.
  • Understand budget constraints and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Collaboration with other disciplines and other Design Team members to ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality.
  • Attend internal project BIM coordination meetings as required.
