The Position

The Global Supply Chain Department is our international expertise supply center. We equip, enable and empower our OpCo’s to deliver performance. Global Projects & Engineering is part of Global Supply Chain and delivers project management and engineering for Capex projects and sets engineering and project management standards. Global Projects & Engineering exists of 6 sections: Project Management and Operational Set-up, Brewing Engineering & Safety, Packaging Engineering & Early Equipment Management (EEM), Operational Technology, Utility & (Waste) Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering & Systems, with a dotted line to Global Procurement Investments.

The Lead – Civil Engineering reports to the Global Manager Civil Engineering. The ambition is to support Global Projects & Engineering to be high performing, innovative, inspiring to work at and open to the potential of new technologies, like digital transformation. Solutions are based on both, lowest Total Cost of Ownership and Lowest CapEx. Besides being a true team player, the Lead – Civil Engineering must be able to act autonomously, be entrepreneurial, highly ambitious, customer focused and inspiring. This position leads to reliable projects and innovations in the field Civil Engineering Design & Construction.

Starting from the existing infrastructure, the Lead – Civil Engineering defines smart objectives, sets key priorities and ambitious targets. He/she has a strong drive to always deliver excellent results and will be highly interested in new digital technology, processes, and working methods and supports an innovative culture.

The Lead – Civil Engineering can build on the strengths, with a positive attitude and is always looking for opportunities to improve. The Lead – Civil Engineering is an excellent and experienced presenter, can travel frequently (30/40% of the time) into the regions where DPS operates, visiting external locations, expertise centers, fares, etc.


Key Objective

The Lead – Civil Engineering should understand the dynamics in the FMCG industry and has proven experience in Leading & Managing Engineering Design, Inter Disciplinary Coordination as well as Construction and operating in digital environment such as BIM. He/she must be a team player, show leadership, be mature as well as creative and most of all innovative and target oriented.

Reporting to the Global Manager Civil Engineering.


Specific tasks and responsibilities

Lead and deliver Engineering Design with up-to-date and high-quality deliverables. This will lead to best value for the company:

  • To continuously optimise the infrastructure through adapting new technology and human aspect, high tech and high touch.


Other responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for realiz982896.069654ation of Design, Estimation and Construction support for Plants around the world as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Lead, maintain, improve and implement Civil Engineering design standards & specifications.
  • Lead, build, maintain and improve the knowledge on alternative engineering solutions enabling lowest Total Cost of Ownership and Lowest CapEx.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive internal and external (suppliers) network to ensure fit-for- purpose engineering designs.
  • Work closely together with local and regional Project Managers/ Brewery teams all over the world.
  • Co-develop and implement new technologies, incl. digital transformation.
  • Work closely with other Global Projects & Engineering Teams and Members.
  • Identify, investigate and adopt cutting edge technologies, where these offer a distinct advantage.
  • Maintain frequent and appropriate levels of communication with key stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept appraised of projects and plans.

Professional experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant (international) working experience in Civil/Structural/Architectural Design of a Brewery / Soft Drink /FMCG environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP functions related to Buildings (Lighting, HVAC, Plumbing etc.).
  • Familiarity with International Design codes/standards and tools such as Revit, BIM, Staad etc.
  • Able to deal with both strategic, tactical and operational issues in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Willing to travel frequently to worldwide locations in both developing and mature markets.
  • Safety top of mind, result oriented, team player, understanding cultural differences and behaviors, open minded, pragmatic.
  • Excellent leadership qualities and gravitas; influential in respects to winning the support/backing of key senior stakeholders.
  • Broad experience with supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of “Agile” methodologies.
