Summary

The Site Lead role for our Netherlands site is the most senior position responsible for all site related functions, including all of Operations and Customer Service roles.  The site is servicing Europe with customer service and shipping for a portion of our product portfolio. The site is expanding during 2020 to include manufacturing of the product line and customer service and distribution capability for most product lines in Europe. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the site expansion programs, implementing quality management systems, achieving ISO certification and scaling customer service and distribution capability for the extended portfolio, implementing SAP and resourcing the site for the business.  This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with customers, headquarters functions (G&A, Sales and Business Unit Leaders) and external providers (Suppliers and Contractors) to achieve exceptional results.  In addition, the candidate must have strong communication skills, technical knowledge and problem solving. Experience working in a classified cleanroom, and knowledge of GMP/ISO/document-controlled processes would be beneficial. Attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all site personnel involved, collaborating with headquarters functions for harmoniz980590.256782ation for matrixed roles.
  • Lead all operations at the site, including Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, Quality and Customer Service Order Processing.
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Focus on delivering quality product to our customers based on our commitments. 
  • Achieve financial results to plan.
  • Ensuring that all employees are trained to perform their functions and have personal development plans.
  • Ensure that the operation follows all aspects of IS09001 Quality Management System.
  • Responsible for ensuring that work area is clean and safe
  • Report metrics, as required.

 

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering, Science or a related field preferred, five to 10 years' experience in Biotech manufacturing.
  • Experience leading a manufacturing and distribution site in Europe.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems to effectively account for production and inventory is a plus.
  • Experience in column chromatography is preferred.
  • Experience with the operation of laboratory equipment (including pumps, UV detectors, and various gauges/sensors) and operation of process-scale manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in Customer Service and Distribution is preferred.

  • Must be resourceful and self-motivated.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
