The Engineering department is responsible for implementing innovative process improvements to secure future capabilities, productivity and compliancy of the Nijmegen production facility. Since a couple of years we have been facing major growth which requires a continuous developing Project Management Organiz695098.12496ation in order to manage these improvements successfully within a semi-pharma environment. In the position of Construction Manager you will be responsible for all site activities during the implementation of the capital projects at the Nijmegen site.



  • Responsible for all site activities, related to capital projects.
  • Guarantee safety (e.g. LOTO) and quality (e.g. Hygiene) during construction phase.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) “Safety” within capital projects during design and implementation phase.
  • Deliver project according contract specifications, engineering practices, standards and codes.
  • Manage (sub-)contractors during construction phase by challenging safe way of working, efficiency, lead times etc.
  • Prepare and check all activities for execution with contractor including planning, work permits, safety requirements etc.
  • Responsible for timely reporting/escalation to project manager.
  • Coach/Align contractors team to maximiz695098.12496e commitment and output.
  • Timely arrange required resources to perform the agreed activities.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Min. MBO degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Min. 5 years of experience in an industrial environment (Preferably Food or Pharma)
  • Knowledge of engineering and project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of VMG Plans, TRA, LMRA, Work plans, work permits and RI&E.
  • Oversees and provides direction to contractors to assure conformance with engineering practices, standards and codes.
  • Affinity with Electrical/Instrumentation and civil.
  • Experience in food/pharma industry is a pre.
