Learning and Development Specialist (3-day week)


As our Learning &Development Specialist, you will work across the site to support the development and delivery of the Learning & Development programme in order to allow the site to achieve strategic objectives related to Safety/Quality/Compliance/specific technical and other learning needs. You will also be accountable for the quality and implementation of all elements of the Learning and Development Program


Key responsibilities will include;


Assist in developing and the Implementation of the learning & development strategy.

Develop and deliver the site-training plan ensuring visibility across the site with the line management team and senior management

Conduct training needs analysis assessments in line with the plant Strategic Objectives and department plans

Partner with other key departments i.e. EHS etc. to ensure suitable programs are engrained and deployed effectively

Assess current and future training objectives and skills need in line with the plant strategy and industry developments


Design and Delivery

Design and develop Learning programmes in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts and key stakeholder ensuring they are in line with best practice.

Ensure the Learning & Development program is compliant with all applicable legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.

Co-ordinate Trainers and support them on development and delivery of Learning content and provide them with timely feedback.

Manage the Logistics associated with the Learning Program delivery.

Prepare Learning Course materials, organise virtual and video conferencing Learning sessions, setting up, opening and closing courses as required.

Evaluate Learning Delivery for efficiency and effectiveness

Ensure LMS is maintained for training requirements, history and qualifications.

Ensure ongoing GMP education programs are delivered to all employees adhering to international GMP regulations, cGMP’s, company policies.

Prepare timely reports and communicate effectively with all stakeholders reporting Key Performance Indicators & Metrics.

Support the on boarding process including the organisation and delivery of induction training and specialist role learning as appropriate

Support onsite training personnel to design and deliver training programmes ensuring they are utilising best practice. 


Continuous Improvement

Engage and work collaboratively across the plant to develop a dynamic and effective Learning environment.

Support the continuous improvement of Learning and development programs

Be active in relation to implementation of Best Practices and trends in the area of Learning and Development engaging with Networks and benchmarking across industry

Utiliz653184.391301e continuous improvement tools, lean and six sigma methodology to identify improvement opportunities, perform technical troubleshooting and successfully implement solutions.

Work with other stakeholders and colleagues to develop new and innovative approaches to learning delivery utilising technology 

Assess the effectiveness of training delivery and impact on performance


Education and Experience Requirements

At least 3 years’ experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry

Ability to manage multiple priorities and know when to escalate issues for resolution.

Knowledge of and ability to understand shift work and its impact on scheduling training

Proven ability around working cross functionally, focusing on meeting and tracking to schedules and embrace an interdependent working culture.

Proven record in developing Learning Programs.

Proven record of accomplishments in the training arena, specifically in a GMP/regulated industry.

Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies is desirable.

A Strong Talent Developer with a focus on creating a continuous learning organisation Learning and Development qualification is desirable.
