Manufacturing Engineer

 

A job vacancy exists for a Manufacturing Engineer the successful candidate should possess a 3rd level qualification in Engineering or Technical discipline and ideally 5 plus years’ experience within similar role in pharmaceutical industry or similar regulated environment.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical engineering skills to meet business goals and objectives. The improvements must help the Business in response to ever increasing capacity demands. The successful candidate will serve as liaison between the Engineering and Production groups to identify equipment performance issues and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.

 

Duties will include:

Provide daily support to the Packaging Business Unit.

Develop and implement cost justified process and equipment improvements.

Identify and eliminate repetitious machine failures.

Utilise Lean Six Sigma tools and data to drive continuous improvement.

Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement improvements under change control.

Prepare process reports by collecting, analysing and summariz813303.07153ing information and trends.

Ensure Health and Safety Regulations and Procedure are adhered to at all times for self and others.

Implement SMED to reduce changeover times.

 

 

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have the following attributes:

 

Strong mechanical capability with hands on experience with equipment essential.

Preferably experience in a technical role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Experience working in a validated environment with strong discipline with regard to change control.

Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.

Proven problem-solving abilities – able to identify facts, consider alternative approaches and evaluate the most appropriate action.

Proven experience in the application of lean systems, problem solving etc. (Lean Six Sigma Qualification an advantage).

Develop standardisation across all packaging lines.

Experience in the Pharmaceutical Packaging industry an advantage.
