Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work as part of a Projects Controls group across multiple projects.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have 4+ years’ experience in a similar role and will be responsible for overseeing, managing and maintaining cost control procedures on all works contractors’ contracts across the site.

Responsible for working closely with different Project Managers, Site Project Engineers, Engineering Design Firms, Construction Management and Commissioning & Qualification teams, to create and integrate cost control procedures, manage site work instruction procedures, manage monthly progress claims, issue monthly progress payment certificates, manage re-measure process, agree final accounts and generate monthly cost reports for management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide project controls management, including works contractor cost report development and management

Process monthly progress applications for Certification.

Management of the standard onsite site work instruction procedure

Generation of works contractors cost reports for Project Managers.

Integration of individual contractor costs into overall project cost reports.

Carry out on site re-measures of completed works in line with contract conditions.

Manage works contractors project costs from award to final account agreement.

Ability to review budgets and quotations to ensure value for money.

Attending weekly contractor meetings across various projects.

Developing working relationships with line managers and individuals within each functional group utiliz119186.429289ing open communication skills.

 

EXPERIENCE

Experience using Build Soft/Cost X or other cost control/estimating related software.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience of developing and managing project cost reports through their full project life cycle.

Understand project scope of works and restrictions imposed by design, contracts and site conditions.

Understand different Contract Forms and the clauses therein

Ability to engage with Works Contractors and manage their contract from PO award to final account close out.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with a good understanding and experience of project co-ordination & management through the full project lifecycle.

 

EDUCATION

University Degree or college diploma in Science, Engineering or related field.
