Summary:

DPS Engineering is looking for an EH&S Manager to work with a BioPharma client of ours in the Boston, MA area. This individual would be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs to ensure business compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations. They would also manage facility programs and activities for the management of haz617512.284362ardous and non-haz617512.284362ardous waste, wastewater discharge, laboratory safety, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily operational environmental health and safety support to internal customers.
  • Serve as facility environmental health and safety contact for external customers.
  • Manage facility generation, collection, storage, and shipment of haz617512.284362ardous and non-haz617512.284362ardous waste streams.
  • Evaluate new equipment, raw materials, and processes for environmental, health, and safety risks.
  • Evaluate employee exposures to chemical and physical agents in the workplace.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement control strategies to eliminate or reduce environmental health and safety haz617512.284362ards.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, safety audits, and other facility inspections.
  • Define and manage implementation of all EHS related corrective actions (self-assessments, incident/near miss reports, inspections, etc.)
  • Develop and monitor environmental health and safety performance metrics as well as Collect, analyz617512.284362e, and prepare data for management reporting.
  • Develop environmental, health, and safety training programs and conduct employee training.
  • Maintain appropriate written programs, management systems, and compliance documentation.

 

Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor degree in science or health-related field and 8 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech or laboratory environment is highly desirable.
  • Candidates without pharmaceutical, biotech or laboratory experience may be considered if demonstrating exceptional qualification and additional experience.
  • Experience handling and managing RCRA haz617512.284362ardous waste. Prior RCRA, DOT and HAZWOPER training required.
  • NH Certified Haz617512.284362ardous Waste Coordinator certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience driving EHS culture across organiz617512.284362ation including employee engagement and participation.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
