Simon Bimpson

Simon is an experienced business leader with over 25 years experience in Engineering design and consultancy working predominantly in the Water, Energy and infrastructure sectors for large ‘blue chip’ and government clients.

Simon brings global insight, a collaborative style and influence, enjoys working with people to enhance collaboration and create engagement whilst delivering the highest quality service in demanding, highly regulated and changing business environments.

Simon joined Arcadis in 2014 taking on the role of leading the Water, Power and Utilities sector, and took additional responsibility for the Environment, Safety and Industry business in early 2018.

In October 2021 Simon was appointed as Country Director for the UK & Ireland, and following many years leading the Resilience business in the UK was appointed as President of Arcadis DPS Group at the end of 2022.

Senior Vice President, Philadelphia Project Operations
Ryan McDonough

In his role as Senior Vice President, Philadelphia Project Operations, Ryan leads the strategic direction and continued growth of the Philadelphia office, with a focus on expanding its client base and driving project operations improvements. He is responsible for sales and marketing of DPS Philadelphia’s services, including architectural and engineering design, commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV), and construction management.

Ryan has over 20 years of EPCMV project delivery experience in the life science and related high-tech sectors and almost 20 years at CRB, most recently as the biotech market business unit lead where he provided strategic direction in addition to developing and executing annual growth plans for the division.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware and is a registered professional engineer (PE) in five states. He is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and the Bio Industry Organization (BIO). Ryan serves as an active board member for the Joel A. Gingras Foundation.

Pete Matson

As Vice President, Business Development, Pete is responsible for expanding the company’s client base and leading the sales and marketing of DPS services, including architectural and engineering design, commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV), and construction management.

Pete has more than 20 years of experience working in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. He is an expert in both project management and engineering, with a strong technical background. Pete will leverage his technical expertise and long-term relationships across the industry to drive the company’s growth and support the region’s transformative work in the life sciences industry.

Pete earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Drexel University. He is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Andrew Harris

Andrew Harris has more than 20 years of experience working in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries and is widely recognized for his process expertise. He will be responsible for consistent and coordinated execution of engineering systems and project deliverables within the Philadelphia operations. Leveraging his technical expertise, along with his long-term relationships, he’ll focus on consistent and coordinated project execution and delivery. Andrew will also play a key role in developing talent and providing innovative and technical solutions for our life sciences clients.

Director of Process Modeling
Philip Lyman

As Director of Process Modeling, Philip will drive innovation and thought leadership across all U.S. project operations business units. Reporting to the president of U.S. project operations, Werner Greyling, Philip will serve as a top-level technical expert while supporting projects on a global basis.

With over 27 years of experience, Philip is a subject matter expert in process modeling and simulation. He is a global technical team leader with a track record of delivering targeted process models for design optimization, debottlenecking, scheduling, and cost reduction. He is experienced with many life sciences production processes including cell culture, small molecule, liquid fill, oral solid dosage, cell and gene therapy, plasma fractionation and oligonucleotides. These models often include supporting services such as utilities, waste, material and personnel logistics, warehousing, and quality control functions. Working with other process engineers to correctly calibrate and manipulate the models, these simulations help DPS Group’s clients better understand how to increase throughput, decrease operating costs, and improve efficiency in overall operations.

Philip received a PhD and M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Process Modeling and Control, from Lehigh University. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).

Director, Project Management
Michael Martin

As Director, Project Management, Michael is responsible for all aspects of engineering and design efforts, including the facilitation of interdisciplinary coordination, squad checks and document reviews for clarity, completeness, and project scope compliance.

Michael has more than 20 years of diversified experience in the engineering and construction industry. His experience with LEAN project execution and flexible staffing approaches provides direct results with the specific purpose of executing multiple small to mid-sized projects, which brings improving levels of performance and increasing levels of savings.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Drexel University. He is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI).

Director of Project Services
Stan Orner

Stan has progressive experience in life sciences facility engineering, project management, and delivery, from project inception and business analysis through design development, construction, start-up, and commissioning.  He has extensive experience in EPCM and IPD project execution models and has been responsible for equipment procurement, design, budget, project schedules, planning, interdisciplinary coordination (including direct oversight of workforce), technical design quality, and project execution. He is an engineer first, maintaining a strong focus on technical design coordination and quality.

His career in life sciences began as a mechanical/HVAC engineer, working on pharma and biotech projects spanning small renovations, clinical manufacturing, and commercial manufacturing facilities. Stan has managed numerous high-profile life sciences projects over the past 17 years. Most recently, he served as an operations manager, senior project manager, and project executive. In these roles, Stan drove team performance and client satisfaction, managed projects from sales through start-up, and served as project director and project manager mentor for trainees and new hires.

Stan received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and is a registered engineer in PA.

Engineering Execution Manager
Aimee Penko

Aimee Penko has more than 30 years of technical design and leadership experience within the life sciences. She will play a key role in championing continuous improvement of procedures and technical skills, identifying and mitigating project risks, reviewing deliverables for multi-disciplinary coordination, and promoting a culture of technical excellence. Projects will benefit from her core knowledge in the automation field with a broad understanding of all disciplines, project deliverables, and how to execute a project. A member of the International Society of Automation (ISA) and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), Aimee earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Widener University.

Electrical Department Manager
Vincent J. Ionata

Vincent Ionata, PE, PMP, has over 30 years of experience working in electrical engineering in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.He designed power distribution systems to distribute power to various manufacturing and auxiliary support buildings, performed power system analysis to support the system design, designed electrical protection schemes, selected protective relays, calculated trip settings, and performed protective device coordination studies to ensure that the system was completed selectivity.

Vincent earned a PhD in Business Administration – Business and Technology Management from Northcentral University, a Masters of Science in Engineering Management from Drexel University, a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Temple University. Vincent is a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) certified Professional Engineer with active registrations in 15 states, and a Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Project Management professional. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Mechanical Department Manager
Iain Siery

As the Mechanical Department Manager with over fifteen years of building design experience, Iain specializes in mechanical utilities, HVAC, industrial ventilation, and plumbing design for critical environments in R&D and manufacturing.

Along with being a technical subject matter expert in HVAC and mechanical utilities design for the life sciences, Iain is passionate about mentoring and discipline leadership.

Iain earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Bucknell University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (Philadelphia Chapter).

I&C Department Manager
Scott Sommer

With over 40 years in the automation industry, Scott possesses valuable experience in the digital transformation process through the use of data, IIOT, and smart manufacturing concepts.

As an I&C department manager for DPS Group, Scott will support clients by leveraging his extensive experience to mentor and train the next generation of automation engineers.

Scott is a team chair for ABET, a global accreditor of over 4,300 college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology programs in 40+ countries worldwide. Scott leads program evaluators through careful examination and evaluation of programs against accreditation criteria – reviewing course materials and student transcripts; interviewing faculty, staff, and students; and examining academic facilities, such as laboratories and libraries.

A graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a Master of Science in chemical engineering from McNeese State University.

Neil Gamble

Neil is a skilled process engineer with project management experience and is responsible for leading the Philadelphia process team as Department Manager. He brings DPS his diverse life sciences, food, and consumer products process engineering experience spanning all phases of the project life cycle from proposal writing to start-up and commissioning. Neil earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and an M.B.A in Project Management from Liberty University.

Architectural Department Manager
Nathan Druxman

Nathan has over 16 years of experience in design and construction, with over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He is experienced in the layout and design of pharmaceutical research and manufacturing facilities, facility programming, preliminary design, design documentation, construction documentation, and construction administration. Nathan has worked on a diverse portfolio of project types, including OSD manufacturing, clinical packaging, sterile fill, GMP warehousing, environmental storage, H-Use hazardous design, research laboratories, pilot plants, medical device, nutraceuticals and many other unique project types.

Nathan earned a Bachelors of Architecture from New York Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors of Tamudic Law from Chaim Berlin University. Nathan is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Golden Key Honor Society.

Procurement Manager
Mark McKeever

Mark manages the day-to-day procurement activities on DPS projects, including effectively identifying and planning for successful source and selection of materials and labor. Interacting with the project managers, department managers, client personnel, accounts payable, and procurement specialist to ensure that the procurement activities are handled in an ethical manner to achieve the best pricing and schedule for the project. Mark has extensive experience in contract management and negotiation, change management, sourcing strategies, recognizing cost savings, and continuous improvement.

Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University.
