Art O’Grady Joins DPS Group as Cork Director of Operations
DPS Group, the privately-owned Irish engineering group has appointed Art O’Grady as Director of Operations for the group’s office in Cork. In this role, he will have responsibility for managing day-to-day operations in Cork, where DPS employs professional and technical staff in engineering, procurement, construction management and validation (EPCMV) serving high process industries worldwide.
Art O’Grady will report directly to DPS’s Head of Ireland and UK Operations, Aiden O’Dwyer who commented: “I’m delighted that Art is taking on this crucial role with DPS and his experience and track record mean that he will be an outstanding addition to the DPS management team. I worked with Art before we both joined DPS and know he will be bringing skills and new perspectives that will help with our continuous improvement programme.”
“Art has more than 30 years experience and has successfully led large projects and programmes from business case approval, through all stages of project execution to handover of a functioning commercial asset to clients,’ he added.
Prior to joining DPS Group, Art O’Grady worked with GlaxoSmithKline, Jacobs and MSD (Schering Plough). During his time with GSK, he worked as a Project Director, leading a team of GSK project managers across numerous primary, secondary, biopharmaceutical and consumer health projects in Europe. As a Senior Project Manager with Jacobs, Art lead and managed multi-discipline, multi-office engineering teams on both large and small EPCMV capital projects. He also worked for a number of years with Schering Plough where he established and lead a 4-shift 24×7 engineering team operating and maintaining plant and utilities in a FDA/cGMP regulated facility.
Commenting on his appointment, Art said: “Having worked in a number of management roles for both clients and consultants, I am really looking forward to the challenge of leading the Cork Operation of DPS Group. The growth of DPS has been phenomenal and I am really looking forward to contributing to the ongoing success of our Cork Operation and to DPS Group globally,” he added.
