Recognition of Individual and Team Safety Excellence 2014

MSD Safety Council  awarded the Lyosphere Project in Oss, Netherlands the “Best Large Project of 2014 worldwide”.  DPS executed all phases of this project from concept through to Commissioning and Qualification.  The project scope was to provide MSD in Oss a Lyosphere suite including support functions.  The project was executed in an existing operational manufacturing building.  The construction involved:

• Shutdown, decontamination and isolation of an existing manufacturing suite
• Demolition of facilities back to shell and core
• Construction of new lyosphere suite and supporting plantroom
• Commissioning and Qualification of facilities.

The project achieved 109,000 manhours without a lost time injuries to personnel.   The project employed the following tools to achieve this excellent record:

• Safety Kick-off Meeting with each Contractor
• Safety Observation reporting
• Morning safety coordination via Whiteboards
• Safety Management by Walking Around (SMBWA)
• Behavioural Coaching
• Monthly Contractor safety evaluations linked to incentive plan
