3D BIM

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process for creating and managing all of the information on a project – before, during and after construction. DPS is at the forefront of delivering cost and schedule reductions through utilising BIM and Virtual Construction services globally across multiple sectors. We pride ourselves on adding value to our Clients through an innovative and practical implementation approach. Our personnel bring creative and innovative solutions to every project we work on, focusing the elements that deliver the greatest productivity gains to our clients.

As a Contractor, BIM and Virtual Construction can deliver significant cost savings with reduced schedule durations on projects, however a significant investment in software, hardware and staff training together with fluctuating resource requirements increases the risk of not realising these benefits.

Contractors can gain the benefits without the risk through partnership with DPS. We are interested in developing a two way relationship that allows us to work together into the future, providing a complete service from Tender through to Handover or by supporting your existing BIM Team.

Scanning

DPS has the added benefit of having our own High Definition 3D Laser Scanning department within our organisation. To improve something you need to be able to measure it. One of our advances is the use of 3D laser scanning to vastly improve the information we collect before we make decisions. This enables us answer more complex questions and deliver a better service. 

3D laser scanning makes it possible to rapidly survey inaccessible surfaces or complex geometrical details. It works by bouncing a laser off a surface and uses the reflected laser to collect 3-dimensional (3D) data, forming a dense cloud of points to represent the surface. We are then able to view the surface in greyscale, in colour or photo realistically from a digital camera. As with all survey data, the point cloud can be matched seamlessly with topographical survey plans, elevations and sections.
